Seminars

The goal of the program is to study molecular mechanisms of action of protein machines, regulation of their activity, and functional connections in large protein assemblies. These machines and related cellular processes will be subsequently subjected to a detailed quantitative analysis and a mathematical computer modeling. The program aims at developing multiple interdisciplinary collaborations between the participating groups from different departments (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics) and will be an integral part of a Bioquant network at the University of Heidelberg. The educational part of the program will include lectures and practical courses offered by participating groups.

Institutes involved are: Zentrum für Molekulare Biologie Heidelberg (ZMBH), Biochemiezentrum (BZH), Heidelberger Institut für Pflanzenwissenschafen (HIP), Anorganisch Chemisches Institut (ACI), Physikalisch-Chemisches Institut, Kirchhoff-Institut für Physik (KIP), Interdisziplinäres Zentrum für Wissenschaftliches Rechnen (IWR)
