ZMBH - Directorate

The Director manages ZMBH matters and is supported by two Deputy Directors. The directorate is elected among the ZMBH tenured faculty every two years, and the nomination is affirmed by the rector. The Scientific Advisory Board has to be informed prior to the nomination. The Director represents institutional interests towards the rectorate and the University. He manages the ZMBH administration, holds the rights of the householder, and may execute these rights. The Directorate is assisted by Dr. Ralf Tolle (executive assistant) and Mrs. Kathrin Hall (secretary).

The deputy directors are responsible for the teaching and graduate program at the ZMBH and for the central facilities and thus are in charge of technical and administrational support of the institute.

The Director reports to the Research Group Leaders on a monthly basis. He proposes measures concerning the establishment and equipment of new groups, closure of departments, and assigns financial and personnel resources. Additionally, he coordinates scientific training and teaching activities at the institute and must consent to the use of instutional premises.
