How to get to us

By plane: Frankfurt International Airport is the closest and most convenient airport for Heidelberg.

Trains leave directly from the airport. You may need to switch trains at Frankfurt main station. Click here to plan your journey by train. Take a taxi from Heidelberg main station to "Neuenheimer Feld". Distance: ca. 2 km

The Lufthansa Bus is available leaving from Terminal 1 outside hall B, on the "arrivals" level.

By car: Driving by car usually takes a little over an hour and is approximately 80 km (50 miles) to/from Heidelberg, whole distance on the "Autobahn". Check out car rental agencies here. From the airport go initially toward Frankfurt and watch for the signs to "Basel" and "Karlsruhe". Turn south to Autobahn 5 (A5). About 30 km south you will approach "Kreuz Darmstadt". You can take either of these, but A5 is the more direct route. Take exit "Kreuz Heidelberg" and follow the signs to the University in "Neuenheimer Feld".

Limousine service: You can call ahead and have one waiting for you. It costs approximately 45 Euro. A driver usually picks you up at the Meeting Point ("Treffpunkt") in either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and brings you directly to the institute or to your hotel of choice. Make sure that the driver knows your flight number and terminal at which you will arrive or from where you depart and your time of arrival/departure. Reservations should be arranged two to three days in advance. Addresses: Gertrud Woerns Omnibus-Reisen; Telephone 49 (0) 6227 55955; Fax 49 (0) 6227 55061 or TLS - Heidelberg; Tel 49 (0) 6221 770077; Fax 49 (0) 6221 770070. 06221 is the Heidelberg area code when calling from Germany.
