Equipment

The CFMP operates and maintains instruments dedicated to the separation of proteins and peptides, as well as devices for preparing samples for mass spectrometry analysis.

Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art chromatography systems and mass spectrometers designed for liquid chromatography (LC), mass spectrometry (MS), and LC-MS/MS. Additionally, we have an extensive array of bioinformatics tools to facilitate data interpretation and assessment.

Mass spectrometers

Q-Exactive HF MS (Thermo) coupled with Dionex Ultimate 3000 RSLCnano (Thermo)
The Q-Exactive is a high performance hybrid mass spectrometer combining the highfield Orbitrap analyzer with a fast scanning quadrupol analyzer. It is coupled with a Dionex Ultimate 3000 RSLCnano UPLC system (Thermo) for exceptional peptide separation. The Q-Exactive combines the very high resolution of the highfield Orbitrap analyzer with the fast scan speed and the precise mass filtering capabilities of a quadrupole.

Qtrap 5500 MS (ABSciex) coupled with nanoUPLC Aquity (Waters)
This triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with full MS3 capabilities offers high quality, confidence and sensitivity for targeted quantification studies.

maXis UHR-TOF (Bruker Daltonics) coupled with UHPLC 1290 Infinity (Agilent)
High-resolution tandem mass spectrometer for intact protein detection as well as H/D exchange.

Additional equipment

1D gel (Invitrogen)
Classic protein analysis methods for separating and visualizing proteins.

Pipetting robot Digest Pro (Intavis)
Automated procedure for routine enzymatic digestion of proteins immobilized in acrylamide gel slices.
Ultimate 3000 RSLC Offline LC System equiped with an automated fraction collector (Thermo)
Offline-LC used for the fractionation of complex protein digests.
Capillary laser puller P-2000F (Sutter Instruments)
Capillary puller for the production of nanoHPLC columns.

Vanquish Neo (Thermo)
Vanquish Neo is an UHPLC system allowing for reproducible operation at nano, capillary and micro flow rate depending on the user needs. We use it for the off-line high-pH reversed-phase peptide fractionation.
